Programme 2022

The 2022 programme is a result of the first Call for Projects, launched in June, aimed at encouraging and supporting artistic, cultural and heritage activities for all audiences, thanks to an unprecedented pooled budget and a collaborative bid-building process involving the local community.

From cultural trails in the natural environment to the digitisation of urban works, from performances to tours, from exhibitions to residencies, from learning paths to conferences, each project celebrates the main themes of the Montpellier 2028 bid, naturally reflecting its European element.

Some illustrate our relationship with time, history and heritage, while others project us into the future, with a special focus on young people. The relationship that our area has with the water that connects us, with the landscape, and with the ecological challenge is also at the heart of many proposals. The question of how to build a society, how to live together, is also particularly prominent in this programme. Finally, the “great outdoors”, the way we live in public spaces and the transformation of the city through culture are also key themes of Montpellier 2028, which will take shape in these diverse events.

From Pézenas to the Pic-Saint-Loup, via Villeneuve lès Maguelone to the sea on the Gulf of Lions, there’s a vast area behind the bid, with everyone getting involved to keep up the pace of Montpellier 2028.

We hope as many of you as possible will attend and participate in the event…and help bring Montpellier 2028 to life!
