Papiers mâchés

La Fenêtre - le MIAM
Exposition, All public, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, Sète Agglopôle Méditerranée

Bouillon Cube
Atelier, Music / Concert, Projection, Meet, Residence, All public, Grand Pic Saint-Loup

Atelier, Déambulation, Exposition, Residence, All public, Ville du Grau-du-roi

Bipolar
Atelier, Déambulation, All public, Grand Pic Saint-Loup, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, Vallée de l'Hérault

A project combining urban planning, urban art, visual arts, literature and graphic design.

  • Tuesday, September 12
Launch of the operation with a lecture by Arzhel Prioul and Mathieu Tremblin at 6:30pm at ENSAM (Anphi 1).
At the same time, white cards will be sent to around fifty artists, and the following day two groups of ENSAM students from Sète and Montpellier will scout the billboards.
  • In October, once the completed boxes had been returned, the students reproduced them to scale.
  • Wednesday, November 22 at 9 a.m.
All the posters collaged will be listed and located on an online digital map, and then published in the form of a publication featuring an account of the poster collage experience.

The title of the project is the number of the article in the Environmental Code that guarantees freedom of expression in the public space, by requiring the provision of public display panels.
Two artists, Arzhel Prioul and Mathieu Tremblin, propose a protocol for taking over these free billboards by sending postcards in the form of carte blanche to other artists. After identifying the appropriate panels and contexts for the works, the completed cards are then reproduced to scale and displayed. The public space is altered, but it’s a very ephemeral art form, since anyone can cover these panels freely.

La Lisière, a new cultural third place, is coming into being at Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone. A lagoon area at the heart of a fertile ecosystem which is threatened by the rarefaction of fresh water and the rising sea water level. How can we rethink our relationship with the land, living things, water? Meetings, discussions, shows – fun ways of sparking a playful, festive and creative reappropriation of land, water and living things. An event initiated by TSV, a professional training centre for the performing arts, RECréa, the CEN conservation agency, Atelline, Villeneuve-Les-Maguelone town council and local cultural actors.

This project highlights the area of Petite Camargue and the life of its inhabitants. Objective: to talk with the guardians of the place – the salt workers – and the inhabitants, to elicit questioning about the future. Firstly, to transpose these writings into a text for the theatre, create a work and perform it. Secondly, to turn them into a scenario for a film.

A real bean feast Sit down and tuck in! The project invites you to immerse yourself in the uniting, festive and social experience of Mediterranean cuisine. Set off on a quest for recipes from those who cook under the watchful eye of a photographer to document this culinary odyssey. Tales compiled into one grand fictional narrative written by Rémi Chechetto and served up by actors and inhabitants of the Gély district in Montpellier and Ile de Thau in Sète. Amid steaming pans and the sounds of cutlery, the stories of individuals criss-cross, weaving one grand collective story.

How can humans inhabit and use the land simultaneously with other living things? The Catfarm Education association is interested in climate and social issues. Imagine a prototype of a magnificent multicultural building, feeding and benefiting all living things! An artistic, 100% demountable, biodegradable mini-mushroom house that schoolchildren and young European students will have to build, decorate and live in through activities and workshops.

One key event is the grand inaugural evening, open to all. A chance to harvest ideas and make them germinate.

This festival came about through a meeting between La Fenêtre and the network of media libraries in the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole area. Its first edition takes the form of six exhibitions in more than 15 venues and explores the relationships between graphic design and cartography. If graphic design is the discipline that deals with the visual engineering of quality messages, producing graphic responses to complex issues, and if cartography is a technique for displaying complex data while giving efficacy and means for finding precedence over the possibility of true knowledge, then a map is a graphic object par excellence…

Photographers share their creative experience to pass on these viewpoints to as many people as possible in Europe (Sète) and the Maghreb (Tangiers).

Water is a common good, a vital resource we need to share and protect. At the heart of this project is one key witness and player: the Lez, the nurturing, landscape-sculpting river running through the city.
Act 1: Créathon.
Act 2: Mément’Eau, the Event, part of the Agropol’Eat festival.
The programme includes rambles, “transhumances” down the river on foot, by bike, kayak or raft, discussions, debates, workshops, shows. The grand finale: a banquet and party to celebrate Water, the source of life.

Initiated by the Théâtre des 13 vents and designed by 15 cultural partners from Montpellier, Sète, Alès… this 2nd edition of the Biennial begins in Montpellier and ends in Sète. For three weeks, artistic teams working on the shores of the Mediterranean come together in a vast program of performances, workshops and encounters at the crossroads of theatrical disciplines: theater, dance, music, circus and contemporary writing. Giving the public a glimpse of creation in the Mediterranean, opening up a time for sharing works and thought, creating a space for solidarity and hospitality, crossing geographical and imaginary territories, collectively sharing the aesthetic and political questions that run through our times – this is the ambition that drives this Biennial, initiated by the Théâtre des 13 vent CDN Montpellier, conceived and supported by a group of cultural partners in Montpellier and beyond.
